ADC polls: Voting on April 13, counting April 17

The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections are slated to be held on April 13, 2026, State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar announced at a press briefing at the Secretariat.
Outlining the detailed electoral schedule, he stated that Returning Officers will issue public notifications from March 18. The deadline for submission of nomination papers has been fixed for March 25, with scrutiny scheduled for March 26. The final date for withdrawal of candidatures is March 28.
Polling will be conducted on April 13 between 7 AM and 4 PM. In the event of exigencies, re-polling or fresh polling will be undertaken on April 16. The counting of votes will commence at 8 AM on April 17, and the entire electoral process is expected to be concluded by April 18.
The Commissioner further informed that, with the announcement of the poll schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the ADC areas. To uphold transparency and electoral integrity, all polling stations will be placed under CCTV surveillance and videographic monitoring.
Anurag, Director General of Police, assured that comprehensive security arrangements will be deployed. Polling stations have been stratified into A, B, and C categories based on security sensitivity.
Reiterating the Commission’s commitment to a credible democratic exercise, the State Election Commissioner appealed for collective cooperation to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. The briefing was also attended by State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen and Director of the Tribal Welfare Department Subhashish Das, among other officials.
