Agartala-Akhaura-Kolkata Bus Service Will be Closed For Three Days For Road Repairing

Agartala-Akhaura-Kolkata bus service will be closed for three days due to road repairing in Bangladesh.

The matter was confirmed to the media in a circular signed by Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Executive Engineer of Brahmanbaria on Saturday (May 11).

According to the notification, the construction of a new PC girder bridge is going on instead of Bailey bridge in Gazirbazar area. As the existing alternative road next to the under-construction bridge is dangerous during the monsoon season, all types of traffic will be closed for three days for the construction of the Bailey bridge.

President of Akhaura land port C&F Agent Association  of import and export Hasibul Hasan said that at that time there was no decision to stop the import and export of the port.

We are considering the issue of not stopping the commercial activities as it is possible to keep the fish export by small vehicles through alternative roads and bring the imported products to the port" he said.

The road will be closed from Tuesday (May 16) to May 18. This will affect the commercial activities of the port.
