Agartala: Govt Woman School Teacher Victim of Cyber Defamation Yet to Get Justice

A government school teacher become frustrated of approaching police with a case of cyber defamation for three months. 

Snigdha Nath, a resident of Indranagar Agartala, by profession a teacher working in Mohanpur Girls School, came to know that several offensive and ugly posts with her picture and phone number have gone viral on social media in February this year. 

She made a GD entry in NCC police station in Agartala within a day or two of the incident and sent the details of the incident to the Crime Branch from the Facebook profile from which the slander was being spread.

The crime branch investigated everything and sent the incident file to the NCC police station. 

Later, the OC of the police station informed Snigdha Devi that the police would investigate the case after the elections. But almost 1 month passed and the election ended. Still no investigation or action in this defamation case.

When she again approached the NCC police station on Friday, the OC said that the officer entrusted with the investigation of this case is currently out of the city. 

According to the report, those who have been traced by the crime branch in the incident are residents of Mohanpur under West Tripura District.

Even as the criminals go around spreading misinformation against a teacher on social media, they are yet to be nabbed.

Finally, teacher Snigdha Nath said the entire incident in front of the camera and demanded the arrest of the culprits as soon as possible.
