Agartala: Smuggler Arrested With Gold Biscuits From Nischintapur. One Fled

Border Security Force (BSF)  recovered 4 gold biscuits worth Rs 36.6 lakh. A smuggler has also been arrested.

A statement issued by BSF on Saturday said, " BSF went to BOP Nischintapur, 42 Bn BSF area to interrogate  two suspects. Then one person managed to escape from the spot."

The arrested person identified as Prashanta Roy (36). 4 gold biscuits recovered from him during search. 

The gold biscuit's weight is about 466 grams. The market value of which will be approximately Rs 36.6 lakh . He admitted his involvement in cross-border smuggling of gold during interrogation. 

He wanted to give these biscuits to a smuggler named Iqbal, a resident of Bangladesh. 

Meanwhile, BSF is conducting a massive search operation in the border area to nab the person who fled from the spot.
