Ahmedabad Plane Crash: 251 DNA Matches. 245 Bodies Handed Over To Relatives

251 people who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash have been identified through DNA. The bodies of 245 people have been handed over to their families. This information was given by Dr. Rakesh Joshi, Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital on Sunday evening.
He said that 6 bodies belong to families who are residents of Britain. These bodies will be handed over to their families soon.
On the other hand, an accident also occurred while shifting the debris of the plane in Ahmedabad. The rear part of the plane being carried in the truck got stuck in a tree. Due to this, the road from Shahibaug Dafnala to Camp Hanuman Temple had to be closed for two hours. The police and fire brigade department cut the branches of the tree and allowed the truck to move.
The plane going from Ahmedabad airport to London crashed on June 12. 270 people including 241 out of 242 passengers on board the plane died in the accident. One person on board the plane survived.
The plane crash not only resulted in the death of the people on board but also took the lives of some doctors of the Ahmedabad Medical College as the plane hit the hostel of the medical college.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also died in the plane crash. Air India flight number AI-171 was going from Ahmedabad to London. There were a total of 230 passengers on board, including 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and a Canadian citizen. These included 103 men, 114 women, 11 children and 2 newborns. The rest were 12 crew members. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also died in the accident.
The pilot had made a mayday call According to Flightradar24, the last signal of the plane was received at an altitude of 190 meters (625 feet), which was immediately after takeoff. India's civil aviation regulator DGCA said that the plane took off from runway 23 at 1:39 pm on June 12. After takeoff, the plane sent a mayday call (emergency message) to the air traffic controller, but there was no response after that.
According to the DGCA, there were a total of 242 people on board the plane, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew. The pilot had 8,200 hours of flying experience and the co-pilot had 1,100 hours of flying experience.
After the Ahmedabad accident, DGCA on Saturday ordered Air India to remove three officers . These include divisional vice president Chuda Singh, chief manager Pinky Mittal who handles crew scheduling, and Payal Arora who is involved in the planning of crew scheduling.
This action was taken against the three officers for serious violation of aviation safety protocols. DGCA ordered Air India to remove them from roles related to crew scheduling and rostering with immediate effect.
