Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Pilot's Last Message To ATC ''Plane Is Not Taking Off, We Will Not Survive'

In the Ahmedabad plane crash case, the last message sent by the pilot of the plane, Sumit Sabharwal, to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) has been revealed. In the 4-5 second message, Sumit is saying, 'Mayday, Mayday, Mayday... I am not getting thrust. Power is decreasing, the plane is not lifting. We will not survive.'

At the time of the accident, more than 60 doctors, students and some other people were present in the hostel building of BJ Medical College where the plane crashed. Of these, 34 have died.

This brought the death toll to 275 (241 passengers and 34 people from the medical college). There were 242 people on board the flight, including 12 crew members. Of these, one passenger survived.

The flight coming from London to Ahmedabad will land at 4 pm today. The family and relatives of the deceased are coming in it. Their DNA samples are yet to be taken.

Big updates related to the accident:

So far, postmortem of more than 270 bodies has been done in the Civil Hospital. 

Apart from this, DNA sampling of 220 people has been done. 7 bodies have been identified.


PM Modi reached Ahmedabad on Friday morning. First of all, he visited the site of the incident. After this, he went to the Civil Hospital, where he met the victims for about 10 minutes.

8 agencies are investigating the plane crash, including National Investigation Agency, Gujarat Police, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Air Accidents Investigation Branch of United Kingdom (UK-AAIB), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of United States, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
