Amara Bangali Opposed CAA in Tripura

Regional political party Amara Bengali Tripura unit again expressed concern over the Central Government's approval of the Citizenship Amendment Act. 

Amara Bengali demands that the law not be enforced in Tripura. Addressing a press conference on Friday, various issues related to the Central Government's Citizenship Bill has been highlighted by the party.

In the press conference, party said that on August 31, 2019, the government has made arrangements to send 19 lakh 6 thousand 657 applicants as foreigners or D voters to prisons called detention camps while launching the NRC in the state of Assam. Among them are about 13 lakh Hindu Bengalis. 

Amara Bangali alleged that in the preliminary draft of the National Register published on July 30, 2018, the names of about 40 lakh Assam resident Bengalis were not mentioned. 

Amara Bengali Tripura State Committee Secretary Gaurangs Rudra Pal also alleged that far from getting citizenship through CAA, no Hindu Bengali can even apply for citizenship. Because almost no Hindu Bengalis have the papers which are asked to be submitted as proof of coming to India from Bangladesh. Amara Bengali  completely opposing  this CAA.
