Amid Conflict Between Israel- Lebanon, Netanyahu Addressed The UN General Assembly

Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly on Friday. He said that he did not want to give a speech at the UNGA this time, but the lies being spread about Israel forced him to present his country's side.

As soon as Netanyahu started his speech, representatives of many countries walked out of the UN Assembly. Netanyahu said, "Last time I showed a map in which Israel and its partner Arab countries were connecting Asia to Europe, connecting the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea."

Netanyahu said, "Today I am showing another map, this is the map of terror." The Israeli Prime Minister showed Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen in this map. These countries were painted in black and were described as curses. Netanyahu held both the maps in his hand and said, "On one side there is hope for the future and on the other side there is the darkness of the future."

The Israeli PM said, "Israel wants peace. We have brought peace and will continue to bring it. When I addressed this assembly last year, we were about to make a historic deal with Saudi Arabia, but Hamas attacked and stopped this deal."

Netanyahu said, "As the Prime Minister of Israel, I will ensure this agreement is reached. A peace deal between the two countries will transform the entire Middle East. Iran is preventing this from happening. After Laden's attack, Hezbollah has killed the most number of US and French citizens."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also gave a speech at the UNGA on 26 September. Criticising the US support for Israel, he said, "This madness must end. The whole world is responsible for what is happening to our people."

Abbas had said that the death toll in Gaza is constantly increasing. Despite this, America is providing diplomatic help and weapons to Israel. By continuously vetoing the ceasefire proposal in the UNSC, America has allowed Israel to commit crimes against Gaza.

Amid the 1-year-long war with Hamas, Hezbollah and Israel have been at loggerheads for the past 10 days. In fact, a pager attack took place in Lebanon on September 17. Just a day after this, a walkie-talkie and a solar energy system also exploded. Hezbollah and Lebanon held Israel responsible for these attacks.

After this, a conflict broke out between the two countries. Israel has been launching missile attacks in Lebanon for the past 7 days. According to Al Jazeera's report, more than 620 people of Lebanon have been killed in these attacks. Apart from this, more than 5 lakh people have had to leave their homes. Israel has named the operation being carried out in Lebanon "Northern Arrows".

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) carried out the biggest attack on Lebanon on 23 September. The IDF carried out air strikes targeting 1600 Hezbollah targets. It claimed to have destroyed 10 thousand rockets. 569 people died in this attack
