Amit Shah, Nadda Hand Over BJP Reins to Nitin Nabin

Bihar government minister Nitin Nabin on Monday took charge as the BJP’s acting national president at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah and outgoing president J.P. Nadda escorted him to the chair, symbolising a smooth leadership transition.

Nitin Nabin received a grand welcome at the BJP headquarters, where party workers showered him with flowers and raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.” Senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda, were present to greet and congratulate him on assuming the new responsibility.

Nabin was scheduled to reach Delhi on an IndiGo flight at 8:25 a.m., but due to a four-hour delay, he arrived in the capital at around 1 p.m.

Earlier in the day, after being appointed as the BJP’s national working president, Nitin Nabin offered prayers at the Hanuman Temple in Patna and later paid tribute to his father.

J.P. Nadda was appointed BJP national president in 2020. Although his term officially ended in 2024, he has continued on an extension while also serving as the Union Health Minister. Party sources indicate that, in keeping with BJP tradition, Nitin Nabin is likely to be formally appointed as the next national president.
