Anti-Party Activities: Congress Issues Notice To Five Party Members Including MLA

The Assam unit of the Congress on Saturday issued show-cause notices to five senior party members, including three MLAs and the state unit president of the party's women's wing, for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities during this year's Lok Sabha elections.
The notice was issued by the party's Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC), giving the respondents seven days to file their reply, a statement said.
The party leaders who have been issued notices include MLAs Abdur Rashid Mandal, Rekibuddin Ahmed and Bharat Chandra Narah.
Congress state women's unit chief Meera Barthakur and Hailakandi district Congress committee president Shamsuddin Barlaskar have also been issued show cause notices.
The statement said several rounds of discussions and discussions were held with grassroots party workers and leaders about anti-party activities during the Lok Sabha elections.
The DAC received 56 complaints from various constituencies and contesting candidates.
After thorough investigation and deliberations, the DAC decided to issue show cause notices for "violation of party discipline" and they have been given seven days to respond
