Argentina Wins Copa America Title Despite Injury of Messi

Argentina has won the Copa America Football Cup title for a record 16th time. Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 in the final played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The score remained 0-0 in the scheduled 90 minutes of play. The match went into extra time. Both teams could not score a goal in the first half of extra time as well. 

Finally, in the 112th minute of the match, Lautaro Martinez scored a goal for Argentina. This lead remained till the end and the team captained by Lionel Messi won the match 1-0 and became the champion.

This is Argentina's second consecutive title win in Copa America. Earlier in 2021, the team defeated Brazil in the final. Colombia last played the final 23 years ago in 2001 and became the champion in its hosting.

Messi got injured in the 36th minute of the match and
the score remained 0-0 till half time. Although both Argentina and Colombia got chances, no team was able to take the lead.

In the 36th minute of the match, Argentina's Lionel Messi got injured and the match was stopped for 2 minutes. Earlier, in the 27th minute, Colombia's John Cordobia was shown a yellow card.


In the second half, Messi got injured again in the 64th minute of the match and had to go out. Nicolas Gonzalez had to come in his place. When Messi left the field, both the teams had not scored any goal till then. Messi was very disappointed at going out and was seen crying.

A huge crowd gathered outside the stadium to watch the Copa America final in Miami. People without tickets also reached to watch the final between Colombia and Argentina, after which there was a rush like situation outside the stadium.
