Ashwin Ramaswami, The 24-Year-Old Indian-American Hoping To Be The US Legislature

Indian-American citizen Ashwin Ramaswami has become the first Indian American Gen-Z contesting to be the US legislature. 

Ramaswami  contesting from the Senate seat of the US state of Georgia, who is just 24 years old. Ramaswami is being seen as a new emerging leader of the community. Ramaswami's parents had settled in America from Tamil Nadu in the year 1990.

Gen-Z is a term that came into discussions on social media, which means a boy or girl born between 1997 and 2012. Ramaswamy, a second-generation Democrat, is running for state Senate in Georgia's District 48. 

Ramaswamy is hoping to replace incumbent Republican Sean Still. If he wins the election, he will become the first Indian American in the Georgia Legislature. Ramaswamy has pursued a career in software engineering, election security, and technology law and policy research before the election. 

Ramaswami told in a recent interview that I am contesting from the state Senate for my community. I want to make sure that everyone gets the same opportunities that I got. I want to make sure that the community has a new voice. Representation increases when youth join politics. Everyone should ensure that they have access to quality education. We want people to get other rights along with jobs. Both his parents are from the IT sector.
