The Indian men’s hockey team roared into the Asia Cup 2025 final after dismantling China 7–0 in their last Super 4s clash at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium.
A flurry of goals from Abhishek (46’, 50’), Shilanand Lakra (4’), Dilpreet Singh (7’), Mandeep Singh (18’), Raj Kumar Pal (37’), and Sukhjeet Singh (39’) sealed a one-sided contest that underlined India’s attacking depth and defensive dominance.
From the opening whistle, India dictated tempo. Harmanpreet Singh’s precision aerial ball sparked the opener as Jarmanpreet Singh’s cross was coolly slotted home by Lakra. Moments later, Dilpreet pounced on a rebound to double the lead.
The hosts never let up—Mandeep’s opportunistic strike made it 3–0 before halftime. China struggled against India’s pressing, and after the break, Raj Kumar Pal and Sukhjeet Singh struck in quick succession to push the scoreline to 5–0.
The final quarter showcased India’s flair—Sukhjeet’s mazy run set up Abhishek, who later added a fine backhand for his brace, completing the rout.
The victory confirmed India’s top spot in the Super 4s standings with 7 points, three clear of second-placed South Korea.
The stage is now set for a blockbuster final on Sunday, as India face defending champions South Korea in a clash that promises high stakes and high intensity.
