Assam Flood: Kaziranga National Park Witness 150 Animal's Death

Due to the floods in Assam, life has become difficult for both humans and animals. Many animals have also lost their lives due to the floods.

Officials informed that more than 150 animals have drowned in the floods in Kaziranga National Park, including nine rare one-horned rhinoceroses.

Assam has been battling flash floods triggered by heavy rains over the past two months. At least 79 people have died in the floods, which have inundated farmlands, residential areas and displaced thousands.

Due to the floods, one third of Kaziranga National Park has been submerged in water. There are 4000 one-horned rhinoceroses in Kaziranga National Park.

The India Meteorological Department said on Wednesday that heavy rains are expected in northern and northeastern states for the next 2-3 days, which may worsen the situation.

According to the state government's assessment report, water levels in 9 rivers in Assam are already above the dangerous level, while those in tributaries of the Brahmaputra river are expected to rise further.
