Assassination Attempt: Slovakian PM, Shot Multiple Times. 1 Arrested

Slovakia's popular Prime Minister Robert Fico was seriously injured in a shooting incident on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to hospital. 

Slovakian TV station TA3 reported that four shots were fired outside the House of Culture in the town of Handlova, about 150 kilometers north-east of the capital. 

After which 59 year old Fico was shot . A meeting of supporters was taking place there with PM Robert Fico. 

In the news related to this incident, it has been said that a suspect has been detained. Police have sealed the incident site.

Slovak TASR news agency said Parliament's Deputy Speaker Lubos Blaha confirmed the incident during a session of parliament that was adjourned until further notice. 

Reports said the Prime Minister was being taken by helicopter to Banska Bystrica, as the Slovak capital Bratislava was too far. 

The reports said that 'the next few hours will decide his life.' Fico is said to be a supporter of Russia and has been the Prime Minister since last year.

According to the official Facebook page of Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico, he is in critical condition after being injured in the firing. 

A message posted on Fico's social media account on Wednesday said he was shot multiple times.
