At Least 18 Kanwariyas Killed in Tragic Bus-Truck Collision in Jharkhand’s Deoghar District

In a tragic early morning accident on Tuesday, at least 18 Kanwariyas (Hindu pilgrims) lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when a bus collided head-on with a truck on the Godda-Deoghar main road near Jamunia More in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district.

The accident occurred around 5:30 AM in the Mohanpur police station area. According to initial reports, the bus was carrying pilgrims en route to offer water at a holy site as part of the annual Kanwar Yatra when the collision took place.

Local residents alerted authorities, prompting Mohanpur Station House Officer (SHO) Priyaranjan Kumar and his team to rush to the scene. Emergency services swiftly transported the injured to a nearby hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examinations.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision. Further details are awaited as officials continue their probe.
