Australia Crush Bangladesh, Seal WC Semifinal Spot

Defending champions Australia continued their unbeaten run in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, thrashing Bangladesh by 10 wickets on Thursday to become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.

Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted a modest 198 for 9 in 50 overs. Rubia Haider and Shobhana were the only notable contributors, playing gritty knocks against a disciplined Australian attack. For Australia, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Alana King, and Georgia Wareham shared the spoils, each picking up two wickets.

In reply, Australia’s openers made light work of the chase. Alyssa Healy led the charge with a blistering 113 not out off just 95 balls, laced with 20 boundaries, while Phoebe Litchfield supported her brilliantly with an unbeaten 84, striking 12 fours and a six. The duo guided Australia home without losing a wicket, sealing a comprehensive victory.

With this win, Australia remains unbeaten in the tournament — having won four of five matches, with one washed out due to rain. The victory cements their place at the top of the table and guarantees a semi-final berth.
