Bangladesh Unrest To Unrest The Seikh Hasina Government? Report

The real reason behind the civil war like situation in Bangladesh is the student protest. This protest which started against reservation turned into a conflict.

But the way it has suddenly turned violent has surprised even the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Now the Bangladesh government is investigating the role of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and NGOs of western countries in instigating this protest. Bangladesh's banned Jamaat-e-Islami has got support from ISI.

The name of this student wing 'Chhatra Shibir' is coming up in instigating violence. The whole of Bangladesh has been affected due to the violence. There is curfew all over the country. The situation is so bad that 1000 Indian students have returned from here.

According to the Economic Times report, sources said that the aim of ISI is to destabilize the Sheikh Hasina government through protests and bring BNP back to power. Hasina government is keeping an eye on the activities of opposition leaders. People keeping an eye on the developments said that the role of ISI in weakening the Hasina government is nothing new.

But till now the student protest that started against quota in jobs has turned into a political movement with the involvement of opposition parties.

NGOs backed by Western countries are also on the government's radar. Former foreign secretary and high commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, "There are reports of other elements also coming to the fore. Radical elements like Chhatra Shibir which is the student wing of the pro-Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami and opposition party BNP have added a political angle by joining it.

There could also be elements like ISI against the interests of Bangladesh." On Friday night, Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with senior leaders of the alliance to review the situation and deal with the crisis.

Experts monitoring Bangladesh's economy say that there are many issues that led to this performance. Bangladesh's economy remained strong for many years and the country's infrastructure has improved significantly. But growth has now slowed down, leading to unemployment and inflation.
