Shubman's double century was also the best score by an Indian captain in Tests. He broke the record of Virat Kohli, who played an unbeaten innings of 254 runs against South Africa in Pune in 2019.
Shubman Gill became only the fifth Indian to score a century in both innings of the SENA Test. Before him, only Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid and Vijay Hazare could do so.
Shubman Gill became the first batsman in the world to score 250 and 150 runs in a Test. Graham Gooch and Kumar Sangakkara have the record of scoring 300 and 100 runs in Tests. At the same time, Allan Border had the record of scoring 150 plus runs in both innings.
