BJP Become Weak In Rajya Sabha. Seats Comes Down To 86

BJP has not been able to get majority in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and its seats in the Lok Sabha have decreased. At the same time, now BJP has become weak in Rajya Sabha as well.

Four nominated members of BJP retired on Saturday. With this, now the number of BJP in Rajya Sabha has come down to 86 and if we talk about the number of NDA, it has become 101.

Let us tell you that a total of 19 seats have become vacant in Rajya Sabha.

In such a situation, the question arose whether the reduction in numbers will increase BJP's troubles. However, BJP is still in a strong position. If we talk about numbers, BJP is still ahead in that. NDA still has the support of seven non-political nominated members, 2 independents and friendly parties like AIADMK and YSRCP, but to end the dependence on other political nominated members, BJP will have to fill the vacant posts as soon as possible.

Rajya Sabha MPs Rakesh Sinha, Ram Shakal, Sonal Mansingh and Mahesh Jethmalani retired on Saturday. All of them had joined the BJP after being nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The nominated category also includes Rajya Sabha member Ghulam Ali, who will retire in September 2028
