Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 5 voting Live Election Desk, New Delhi. In the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024  held in seven phases, voting took place on 49 seats in eight states and union territories today i.e. on May 20.

In this phase, voting is took place in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Maharashtra, seven in West Bengal, five in Odisha, five in Bihar, three in Jharkhand, one in Jammu and Kashmir and one in Ladakh.

The electoral reputation of many big names is at stake in the fifth phase. These include stalwarts like Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Rahul Gandhi, Chirag Paswan, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Rohini Acharya, Omar Abdullah and Piyush Goyal. With the fifth phase, elections will be completed on a total of 428 seats. According to the Election Commission, voting will be held today in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. In the fifth phase, 9 lakh 47 thousand employees will conduct the election process.

There are a total of more than 8 crore 95 lakh voters in the fifth phase. In this, 5409 voters are third gender. Of these, there are 24,792 voters aged 100 years or more, while there are 7 lakh 81 thousand voters aged 80 years or more. Seven lakh three thousand voters are disabled voters.

Till 7 pm in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, 57.40 percent voting took place for 49 Lok Sabha seats in eight states. Which is much less than 62.01 in 2019. However, the Election Commission says that this data is not final.

According to the data released by Turnout App, 56.68% voting has taken place till 5:00 pm. Till 5 pm, 52.35% votes have been cast in Bihar , 54.21% in Jammu and Kashmir , 61.90% in Jharkhand , 67.15% in Ladakh, 48.66% in Maharashtra , 55.60% in UP and 73% in West Bengal.

The 49 seats voting in phase 5 of Lok Sabha Elections registered 23.6 per cent voter turnout till 11 am, according to Election Commission of India. West Bengal recorded highest with 33 per cent followed by Ladakh with 27.8  per cent, UP with 27.7 per cent, and Jharkhand with 26 per cent turnout, the poll panel said. The Baramulla seat in J&K recorded 21.3 per cent turnout till 11 am. Maharashtra recorded about 16 per cent turnout till 11 am.
