BJP Celebrates Massive NDA Victory in Bihar; PM Predicts Bigger Political Shifts Ahead

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the National Democratic Alliance’s sweeping victory in Bihar at its headquarters on Friday, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an energetic 42-minute address marking the coalition’s record performance.

Arriving at 6:51 pm, the Prime Minister greeted party workers by waving a towel — a gesture enthusiastically returned by the crowd. Calling the mandate “historic,” he declared that the people of Bihar had “made a killing” at the ballot box and ensured that a “Katta government will never return.”

The NDA secured 202 out of 243 seats, crossing the majority mark of 122 by a large margin. The Grand Alliance was reduced to 35 seats. Both the BJP and JDU had contested 101 seats each, while allies LJP (29), HAM (6), and RLM (6) completed the coalition.

Key Takeaways from PM Modi’s Address

1. Bihar’s Verdict Will Energize BJP’s Push in Bengal

Modi said BJP workers across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Puducherry and West Bengal had drawn fresh strength from the Bihar outcome.
“Ganga reaches Bengal after flowing through Bihar,” he said, adding that Bihar had now “paved the way” for a BJP victory in West Bengal. He accused the Bengal government of “jungle raj” and vowed to “join hands with the people to uproot it.”

2. Congress Faces ‘MMC Split’

In a sharp critique, the Prime Minister described the Congress as evolving into a “Muslim League–Maoist Congress (MMC)” driven by “negative politics.”
He claimed a fresh internal split was imminent and warned that even Congress allies were realizing that the party was “swallowing the vote banks of its partners.”

3. Major Investment and Employment Push for Bihar

Promising rapid development over the next five years, Modi said Bihar would witness a boom in industries, tourism, and job opportunities.
“I invite investors from across India and the world — Bihar is ready,” he declared, adding that youth and migrant workers from the state would increasingly find employment at home.

4. Congress–RJD Rift Will Soon Be Visible

Referring to tensions within the Grand Alliance, Modi said the Congress had become a “parasite” that weakens its allies.
“The Congress–RJD fight will come out in the open very soon,” he said, adding that the NDA’s victory marked the beginning of “a new journey” for Bihar.

A Victory With Wider Political Ripples

Friday’s celebrations signaled more than just a state-level win. With the Prime Minister weaving together themes of development, ideological contrast, and national political shifts, the Bihar mandate is being projected as the BJP’s next springboard — especially toward West Bengal, where elections are on the horizon.
