BJP Holds Key Meeting in Agartala for ADC Elections

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its organisational mobilisation in preparation for the forthcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), signalling an early push to consolidate its political base in the hill regions of Tripura. As part of its pre-poll strategy, the party has been conducting a series of organisational meetings and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening its grassroots network and ensuring a decisive performance in the tribal-dominated constituencies.

In this context, a crucial organisational meeting was convened at the state BJP headquarters in Agartala on Saturday, bringing together key tribal leaders, legislators, and members of the state cabinet.

Among those present were Chief Minister Manik Saha, state BJP president and Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharya, Tribal Welfare Minister Vikas Debbarma, Janajati Morcha president Parimal Debbarma, and BJP state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, along with several office-bearers and leaders of the party’s tribal wing.

Speaking about the deliberations, Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that the meeting was organised to formulate the party’s strategy for the upcoming ADC elections. Discussions primarily centred on strengthening organisational structures, expanding the party’s presence in tribal areas, intensifying booth-level activities, and effectively communicating the government’s policies and achievements among the indigenous communities.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister urged party workers and supporters to actively highlight the developmental initiatives undertaken by the state government and to ensure that the benefits of these programmes are conveyed to the grassroots. He emphasised the importance of unity among party cadres, calling for collective efforts to further consolidate the organisation and secure a strong mandate in the hill council elections.

Political observers note that the approaching ADC polls have already begun to heighten political activity across the state. With the electoral battle in the hill areas expected to be closely contested, the state unit of the BJP has moved early to energise its organisational machinery in a bid to achieve favourable results in the upcoming council elections.
