The Tripura Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday issued a strong cautionary directive against a self-styled “party president designate” who has allegedly been attempting to operate within the party’s organisational framework without authorisation, raising serious concerns over internal discipline and misuse of the party’s name.
According to party sources, the individual in question had been reaching out to leaders and office-bearers across various organisational tiers, while also attempting to access sensitive and confidential information related to the BJP’s internal structure and functioning. These actions reportedly prompted immediate intervention from the party’s state headquarters.
In an official statement, the BJP categorically clarified that the election and appointment of the party president and all other office-bearers are governed strictly by the BJP constitution and are conducted through a clearly defined, transparent, and democratic organisational process. Any claim or activity undertaken outside this institutional framework, the party said, amounts to a grave violation of party discipline.
Acting on the directions of the state BJP president, all district presidents, mandal-level leaders, and grassroots workers have been instructed to remain on high alert and to abstain from engaging with any individual or group propagating misinformation, indulging in unauthorised propaganda, or engaging in activities that contravene the party’s constitution and organisational ethos.
The party has further underlined that it will not tolerate any form of indiscipline, misrepresentation, or unconstitutional conduct, and has urged its cadre to exercise caution and refrain from establishing contact with unauthorised persons falsely projecting themselves as office-bearers.
Reiterating its unwavering commitment to organisational discipline, unity, and constitutional propriety, the BJP expressed confidence that its workers would continue to place faith in the party’s institutional processes to strengthen and consolidate the organisation. The statement concluded with a clear warning that any deviation from party norms would invite strict organisational action in accordance with established party rules.
