Body Of Awami League Leader Found From Plantation Area In Meghalaya

The body of an Awami League leader was found from a betel nut plantation in Meghalaya's Jaintia Hills district bordering Bangladesh.

Meghalaya Police gave this information. The deceased has been identified as Ishak Ali Khan Panna.

Meghalaya Police recovered his body on August 26 at a distance of 1.5 km from the India-Bangladesh border.

SP Giri Prasad said that Ishak Ali Khan Panna was identified through his passport. Panna was on the run since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5. His body has been sent to Khlehriat Civil Hospital.

The report said that Panna must have suffered a cardiac arrest while trying to cross the border, which led to his death. At the same time, some believe that he was involved in a shootout with Border Guard Bangladesh.
