Border-Gavaskar Trophy: India Beats Australia By 295 Runs In Perth

India has created history in Perth by defeating Australia by 295 runs. Team India, under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah, has won a strong victory in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.

Earlier, Team India defeated Australia by 72 runs in Perth in the year 2008 under the captaincy of Anil Kumble.

India bundled out Australia for 238 runs after tea on the fourth day. With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Australia has not defeated India in a Test series since 2015 and now it will face a tough challenge to do so in the remaining matches to be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Australia played its first Test match in 1970 at the WACA Cricket Stadium and played its last Test match in this stadium in December 2017.

Since 2017, all the matches are played at Optus Stadium instead of WACA Stadium. Australia played its first Test match at Optus against India in December 2018 in which Australia defeated India by 146 runs.

Now in the year 2024, this was the second match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in which Team India achieved a historic victory by 295 runs.
