Britain General Election on July 4. Survey Predicts Defeat of Sunak Govt

In Britain, the gamble of early elections by Indian-origin PM Rishi Sunak and his Conservative Party seems to be failing. Before the voting on July 4, most surveys are predicting a wipeout of the Conservative Party.

In the survey of The Economist, Sunak's party has been predicted to get a maximum of 117 seats. At the same time, the survey of Savanta-Guardian has claimed that the Conservative Party can be limited to only 53 seats. Which is very less compared to the 365 seats of the 2019 elections.

At the same time, Keir Starmer's Labour Party is expected to get a minimum of 425 and a maximum of 516 seats in the 650-seat House. The average of 7 surveys also shows Sunak getting 95 seats and Starmer getting 453 seats.

Now questions are being raised on Sunak's gamble of calling early elections. When he was 20 points behind the Labour Party in terms of popularity, why did he declare early elections?

Sawant's survey claimed that PM Sunak is going to lose his own seat in this election. The survey claimed that PM Sunak himself can lose his Richmond seat (Yorkshire). If this happens then he will be the first PM of Britain with whom this will happen.

At the same time, former minister Lord Goldsmith alleged that Sunak will shift to America after the possible defeat. However, the Conservative Party and PM Sunak have denied it.

Starmer's Labour Party MP and Shadow Foreign Minister David Lammy has said that if we come to power, we will work on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India on priority basis.

At the India Global Forum in London, David said that Sunak's party has been in power since 2010. Many Diwalis have passed but they have not signed an FTA with India. We need to re-launch our relations with India. The Labour Party is ready for this.

Set a limit on legal immigrants coming to Britain. Send illegal people and refugees coming to Britain to Rwanda. Strengthen relations with Europe after Brexit. Increase the country's defense budget expenditure to 2.5% of GDP. 92 thousand nurses and 28 thousand doctors will be recruited under NHS.

Labour Party has announced a welcome policy for students and technocrats. Will end the Sunak government's policy of sending refugees to Rwanda. New industrial policy to increase employment. Instead of increasing taxes, the focus will be on wealth creation. Will strengthen border security to stop illegal immigrants. Will improve relations with Europe. Will reduce waiting in NHS. Will increase cancer screening.

Discussion of leadership change in Conservative Party after elections in Britain has already begun. Many leaders have started lobbying to take charge of the party, many of them are associated with the anti-Sunak camp. These 5 names are at the forefront. These include former PM Boris Johnson, former Home Minister Priti Patel, Minister of State Kemi Badenoch, former Home Minister Suella Braverman and current Home Minister James Cleverly.
