Brutal Dog Killing Shocks Tripura, 2 Arrested

Tripura woke up to shock and anger after two men were arrested for savagely beating a dog to death in Harijoy Chowdhury Para, Ranirbazar.

The accused—Aparesh Bhattacharjee (55) and Bhupesh Sarkar (46)—were nabbed within hours of an FIR filed by renowned animal activist Dr. Ranabi Roy, who called the act “inhuman and unacceptable.”

The incident triggered statewide fury, with NGOs Pawsome-Agartala and K-Nine galvanizing public opinion, demanding nothing less than exemplary punishment.

Even Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha and Minister Sudhangshu Das stepped in, ensuring immediate police action. Their intervention has been hailed as proof of the government’s zero tolerance for animal cruelty.

Across the state, protests, petitions, and social media campaigns erupted, uniting citizens under one demand: “Justice for the voiceless!”

“This is not just about one animal—it is about humanity itself,”

With public anger boiling over, pressure is mounting on authorities to deliver the harshest possible punishment—to make sure this barbarity is never repeated in Tripura.
