A Sector Commander–level coordination meeting between India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was convened on Saturday at the Manughat Land Customs Station (LCS), situated along the Indo-Bangladesh frontier.
During the meeting, officials from both sides conducted a comprehensive review of the current situation along the international border. Discussions centred on strengthening mechanisms for regulated cross-border movement and tightening surveillance to curb illegal activities, including smuggling and unauthorised crossings.
Both forces underscored the need for enhanced operational synergy and mutual trust to prevent friction in sensitive zones. Senior officers noted that sustained dialogue remains vital to avoiding misunderstandings and ensuring stability along the border. Joint efforts were also emphasised to improve the safety and security of border-adjacent populations.
Reaffirming their longstanding cooperative approach, the BSF and BGB committed to continuing coordinated border management and further deepening the spirit of goodwill between the two neighbouring nations.
