CAS To Decide Vines Phogat's Silver Madel Issue on August 16

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat will not get the silver medal of Paris Olympics for now. The Court of Attribution for Sports postponed the hearing of Vinesh Phogat's case till August 16. 

Earlier this decision was to come on August 13 at 9.30 pm. However, now this decision will be announced on the night of August 16. 

Vinesh Phogat had made it to the finals of the 53 kg category. With this, she had ensured at least a silver medal for the country. 

However, she could not play the final match. She was disqualified from the competition on the morning of the final. Vinesh's weight was found to be 100 grams more than the set standard. After this, Vinesh filed a case in CAS.

Vinesh Phogat had pleaded with the help of the Indian Olympic Association to play the gold medal match first. However, this appeal was rejected. 

After this, she filed a case in CAS to be given a shared silver medal. Vinesh was to face Sarah Hildebrandt of America in the final. 

However, Sarah played the gold medal match with Yusnelis Guzman Lopez instead of Vinesh. Sarah won the gold medal by defeating Lopez
