Central Team Arrived In Tripura To Review The Flood Situation

An inter-ministerial central delegation arrived in the state on Wednesday to look into the flood-related emergency in Tripura.
The delegation, led by Union Home Ministry's Joint Secretary (Foreigners Division) BC Joshi, held a meeting with senior officials of the state administration on matters related to the flood situation in the state at the Conference Hall of the Civil Secretariet on Wednesday evening.
In the beginning of the meeting, Revenue Department Secretary Brijesh Pandey presented a pictorial report of the severe flood situation and damage in the state since August 19 to the central delegation.
In the meeting, the Secretary of the Public Works Department (Roads and Homes) and Health Department Kiran Gitte shed light on the damage and current condition of the respective departments.
He depicted the damage to roads, culverts and communication systems of the entire state due to floods. Abhishek Singh, secretary of the Department of Electricity, Drinking Water and Sanitation and Water Resources, presented the details of the damage in their respective departments. In the meeting,
Secretary of Agriculture Department Apoorba Roy said that there has been extensive damage to agricultural crops.
He presented the information of district-wise agriculture damage in the meeting. He also discussed the preparation of land for agricultural work and the next steps of the department.
In the meeting, Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Resources Department Deepa D Nair, Special Secretary of Rural Development Department Sandeep R Rathore, Additional Secretary of School Education Department NC Sharma discussed the data of the respective departments.
The meeting was attended by other members of the inter-ministerial central delegation and exchanged views with senior officials of the state administration on various issues.
Moreover, the secretaries and officials of the state government's transport, food and planning departments were also present in the meeting
