CM Dr Manik Saha Leads BJP’s ADC Poll Strategy Meeting

The political temperature in Tripura is rising as the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun its groundwork for the upcoming 2026 Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections. On Sunday, a crucial strategy meeting was held at the party’s state headquarters, Kushabhau Bhavan, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, State In-charge Dr. Rajdeep Roy, party president, ministers, MLAs, MDCs, and core committee members.

The meeting went far beyond routine organizational discussions—it marked the beginning of a long-term political roadmap aimed at regaining BJP’s foothold in the tribal-dominated regions of the state.

According to sources, detailed reports submitted by observers from all 28 ADC constituencies were reviewed. These reports highlighted gaps in the communication and implementation of welfare schemes in remote tribal areas. As a corrective measure, the party leadership emphasized sustained grassroots-level outreach programs to ensure effective delivery of government initiatives and strengthen political presence in the hills.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s active involvement in this meeting sent a strong signal. His consistent outreach in tribal regions—through events like Janajati Sammelans, Mann Ki Baat gatherings, and welfare project inaugurations—has boosted BJP’s confidence and visibility among indigenous communities.

Political observers interpret the move as a calculated attempt to rebuild the BJP’s influence that waned after the TIPRA Motha’s sweeping success in the 2021 ADC polls. The meeting, they say, represents a continuation of the BJP’s internal restructuring and strategic realignment to reclaim tribal political space.

While speculation continues about the BJP–TIPRA alliance’s future, the message from Sunday’s session was unambiguous: “Alliance or not, organizational preparedness comes first.”

This self-reliant approach reflects the party’s intent to consolidate its tribal base independently, positioning Dr. Manik Saha as the central face of the BJP in the hills. Analysts suggest that this early mobilization is not only about the 2026 ADC polls—it could also reshape the broader power balance in Tripura’s political landscape.
