CM Manik Saha Inaugurated The 75th Anniversary Celebration of Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya

"Education and health are one of the priority areas of the current state government. No compromise will be made in this regard. This government does not just pay lip service. One of the objectives of the government is to implement it in terms of work. Because action speaks louder than words. The current government is working with this aim."

This was said by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha while inaugurating the 75th anniversary celebrations of Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya at Kailashahar in Unakoti district on Saturday. 

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said that the state government is working tirelessly for the development of the education sector. All types of fees are waived off for students studying in Mahavidyalaya (General Degree College). It has already been implemented. This has increased the interest of female students towards higher education. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the slogan Beti Bachao Beti Padha too. We are not limiting it to just slogans. Taking girls forward is one of our goals. Because of this, 33 percent of women have been reserved in jobs. 50 percent stalls are being allotted for women at various places. Pink toilets have been arranged for them. 

The Chief Minister said that this government has taken various initiatives to prioritize education. Dhammadeepa International Buddhist University in Sabrum is going to start very soon. Currently, the process of setting up the infrastructure is going on. The Bill in this regard has also been passed in the Assembly. Techno India University is in the state. Aryabhatta University was launched. Arrangements have also been made to implement the National Education Policy in these universities. We have MBB University and Tripura Central University. This government is interested in developing an education hub in Tripura within the North Eastern region like a medical hub in the field of health. A dental college has been established in Tripura. That was never thought. This is possible due to the double engine regime. 

Dr. Saha said, you will be happy to know that the results of the first batch of BDS came out yesterday. The first batch of government dental college will be history. They will be remembered for the rest of their lives. We want more medical colleges, dental colleges, education hubs in the state. 

The Chief Minister also said that it was possible to launch the National Education Policy in the country with the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In that direction, the National Education Policy has been implemented in educational institutions including colleges and universities in the state. The student society will benefit through the implementation of the National Education Policy. This government has launched a scheme called 'Lakshya'. Basically, the scheme was launched to enable the educated youth of the state to appear in the UPSC examination for all India administrative posts like IAS, IPS etc. In this scheme, financial assistance of 5 lakh 20 thousand rupees is given to those who pass the UPSC preliminary examination. So far 9 people have been given financial assistance under this scheme. Apart from this, Chief Minister's special scholarship has been arranged for the higher education of Divyang, visually impaired students. In this regard, arrangements have been made to pay 5 thousand taka per month for those studying in graduate or post graduate courses and 4 thousand taka per month for those studying in diploma courses under higher education. So far 23 Divyang, visually impaired students have come under this scheme.
