CM Manik Saha Presents Tripura’s Vision 2030 Blueprint to PM Modi

In a significant stride towards Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and presented an ambitious eight-point development blueprint aimed at transforming Tripura’s connectivity, economy, and heritage landscape.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, the proposal includes double-laning of railway tracks, inclusion of the Bru community under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), enhanced wheat allocation under the Public Distribution System (PDS), and raising the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs).

Other key demands feature increasing the number of Eklavya Model Residential Schools, establishing an Agar Board and Research Centre to promote Tripura’s famed agarwood industry, and ensuring sustainable development of the Unakoti heritage site, which is poised to become a global tourism landmark.

"Delighted to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. Under his visionary leadership, Tripura continues to advance toward the goal of Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat,” Dr. Saha shared on social media, expressing optimism about the state’s growing momentum.

The Chief Minister also sought the Prime Minister’s support for introducing a Vande Bharat Express to strengthen the state’s railway network and enhance connectivity with the rest of the Northeast.

Later in the day, Dr. Saha held a detailed discussion with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan, focusing on track doubling, route electrification, and a proposed Agartala–Guwahati Vande Bharat Express. The two leaders also explored innovative projects such as setting up a Film City and Cyber Security Hub to create new avenues for employment and investment.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had also met Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, discussing strategic partnerships to boost healthcare and financial inclusion in the state.

Dr. Saha’s back-to-back meetings in the national capital reflect Tripura’s renewed commitment to balanced, technology-driven, and inclusive development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
