Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday strongly criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of attempting to divert national attention from the devastating floods in North Bengal.
Dr. Saha said the TMC’s actions were politically motivated, adding that “the party has no real presence in Tripura except for its signboards.” Referring to the recent attack on BJP workers during relief distribution in North Bengal, he said, “Our MPs and MLAs went to help flood victims, but TMC-backed goons attacked them. Some of our workers are hospitalized.”
He further remarked that while some youths in Tripura staged protests out of anger, the TMC was trying to exploit the situation. “They will gain nothing from such acts; instead, their vote bank will shrink,” Saha said, urging the TMC to focus on law and order in West Bengal instead of creating unrest elsewhere.
