Countdown of Exit From IPL Begins. Know The latest position of The Teams

The countdown of exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season has now started. Now all the teams are fighting to remain in the race for the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) seem to be far ahead in this battle. This team, captained by Sanju Samson, has now reached the threshold of playoffs with 14 points.

A win can give Rajasthan entry into the playoffs. But unlike these, there are 4 teams which are at the bottom in the points table.

Now they are facing the danger of being out of the playoffs. Among these, the condition of Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) seems to be the worst.

Whereas the condition of Punjab Kings (PBKS) also looks almost like that of RCB.

On the other hand, for Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) now all the matches are like do or die. If these teams lose 1-2 matches, they can also be out.

Let us know in detail the playoff equation of all these 4 teams...

This season, Virat Kohli's team RCB has lost 7 out of 8 matches so far. This team is currently at the bottom i.e. 10th position in the points table. If RCB, captained by Faf du Plessis, wins all its remaining 6 matches, then its total will be 14 points. In such a situation, it seems completely impossible for RCB to reach the playoffs.

The main reason for this is that 10 teams are playing in IPL from the 2022 season. Since then, no team has ever reached the playoffs with 14 points. The team at the bottom i.e. fourth place also has 16 points. In such a situation, the chances of RCB team reaching the playoffs seem slim.

But RCB will definitely need a miracle. If the rest of the teams lose their matches and the equation comes down to 14 points for the fourth-placed team, then RCB may have some hopes.

For that too, RCB will have to win its remaining matches by a good margin and maintain a good net run rate. But there seems to be very little hope for this.

On the other hand, it has become a do or die situation for Punjab Kings captained by Shikhar Dhawan. This team is at 9th position in the points table after winning 2 out of 8 matches. If this team has to win all the remaining 6 matches, then there will be an equation of reaching the playoffs with 16 points.

But if this team loses even one match now, the situation like RCB will be created. That means it will almost be out of the race for the playoffs. Then there will be hope for a miracle. Punjab still has to play 2 matches against Chennai and 1 match each against Rajasthan and Hyderabad.

In such a situation, these teams can spoil the mathematics of Punjab.

The condition of Mumbai team under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and Delhi team under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant is the same. Both teams have equal 6-6 matches left.

If both the teams also win all their matches, then they will secure a place in the playoffs with 18 points. However, this is not possible, because both these teams have to play a match against each other, in which de of one of them is certain.

If both these teams Mumbai and Delhi lose 1-1 further matches, they will still have the possibility of reaching the playoffs with 16 points. But there is no possibility of losing more than 1 match.

If both the teams lose 2-2 matches, then they will also reach the position of RCB and Punjab Kings. That means they will almost be out of the playoffs.
