CPIM Holds Agitation Movement Against 'Law & Order Situation' In Tripura

Amidst the frenzy surrounding Sharadotsav in Tripura, the CPIM took a political stand.

Manik Sarkar, Jitendra Chowdhury lashed out at the ruling party BJP and the Tripura government on several issues including crime against women , law and order, corruption, price hike, after the protest march in Agartala. They claim that BJP is responsible for the plight of the people of Tripura.

Former Chief Minister and CPIM politburo member Manik Sarkar responded to the Chief Minister's comments regarding the re-investigation in the old murder case in the Pathsabha today.

According to him, no one objected to investigate the old murder case. Investigate in accordance with the law. People also want to re-investigate and face the truth. In fact, the Chief Minister is saying madly in front of the public to mislead the people, mocking Manik Sarkar.

On this day, he said that the women of the state are constantly suffering from insecurity. Women are being victimized in various places. But investigation shows that a part of the ruling party is involved in the incident. But the Chief Minister of the state is playing a silent role even though he has all the information about it. Because, he wants to save his own back, he complained. But people have realized their mistake. Therefore, people should come together in the fight against women oppression.

He alleged that there were widespread irregularities in the Tristar Panchayat elections. People were prevented from exercising their right to vote. People had to face threats to vote. Then miscreants sponsored by the ruling BJP attacked the opposition party workers. CPIM candidates were barred from filing nominations. As a result, several CPM workers were injured and one was killed. It is clear that the law and order of the state is at the bottom.

He alleged that BJP nominees had won unopposed in about 71 percent seats of the state before the election. Still, on the day of polling, voters were sent home by intimidation. Likewise, on the day of counting of votes, miscreants under the patronage of the ruling party maintained an atmosphere of terror in the state. Opposition workers were not allowed to enter counting centers in various blocks.

On this day, he also said that the government is providing jobs in exchange of money in the state. There is a smell of corruption in government jobs. Overseas youth are taking the PRTC certificate in crooked ways. The government has not taken any action against it. So today, people must fight together to solve the problem of unemployment. Moreover, the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated drastically. The police are taking a silent role.

He claimed that law and order did not deteriorate during CPIM rule in Tripura. Only the terrorists created the problem. Many ministers, MLAs and innocent people were victims of their attacks. Surprisingly, terrorists did not attack Tripura after the departure of the then government. But hundreds of terrorists have surrendered in a span of ten years. The Chief Minister should investigate this matter.

Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury said that the people of the state are suffering from various problems. Officials of the ruling party have been implicated in several crimes. When the police come to know about this, they cannot proceed with their investigation process at all. He alleged that the BJP government is in power in Tripura by criminals. So there is no initiative to arrest the criminals in various activities. Not only law and order and security are being disrupted in the state, but the economy is also deteriorating. So people have to fight together to save the state from misrule
