The violence in Manipur that has been going on since May last year is not stopping, rather it is increasing day by day. Now the militants have also started using modern weapons. In recent attacks, the militants have used drones. After which the CRPF and Manipur Police have made preparations to deal with these attacks
CRPF has provided anti-drone systems to the security forces. Along with this, the police also said that more anti-drone guns will be installed in the tension-prone areas. Recently, extremists used drones to drop bombs on settlements. The presence of such modern weapons in the hands of extremists is being seen as a big threat and preparations are being made to deploy anti-drone systems in the violence-prone areas of Manipur. Let us know how this anti-drone system works.
Anti-drone system is also known as counter UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technology. You must have heard names like Air Defence, Iron Dome etc. in the recent Russia-Ukraine war and Gaza war. This technology has the ability to detect and destroy missiles, rockets, high-speed large drones etc. coming towards any area in the air. This system is effective in destroying fast and large targets, but cannot catch small, low-flying and light-moving drones.
Anti-drone system has come into existence to deal with such drones. It has been specially designed to detect and destroy small drones. CRPF informed on Saturday that anti-drone system has been provided to the security forces.
If a drone intrudes into the area where this system is deployed, it collects information related to it in a few seconds, such as where is the drone coming from, at what speed is it moving and whether there is a bomb or any dangerous thing inside it or not.
After getting all this information, the person operating the anti-drone system or anti-drone gun decides whether to destroy the drone or let it fly. This system can shoot down the drone in the air by pressing a button by the operator. Apart from this, many modern anti-drone systems can also disable the drone and bring it down
