Cyclone Ramel, Tripura: Colleges, University Closed. Agt- Kolkata Air Service Suspended

Tripura Higher Education Department decides to remain close all the Higher Education institutions including Colleges and Universities on May 27 and 28 due to cyclone Remal.

In a press statement on Sunday Tripura Higher Education Department mentioned that:

In view of the press release issued today by the Revenue Department, Government of Tripura regarding prediction of Cyclonic Storm "Remal" causing having rainfall and disruption of life in the state, the Colleges / Universities (both Government and Private) will remain closed on 27th and 28th May, 2024 as a measure of precaution.

All the head of the Institutions / Colleges / Universities are requested to take necessary steps accordingly.

Notable that  Tripura Government issued a red alert in four districts South, Dhalai, Khowai, and West Tripura District due to severe cyclonic storm 'Remal'.

Earlier Government already announced that all the schools and Anganwadi Centers to be remain close till May 28.

Agartala-Kolkata Air Service Suspended

The director of MBB airport said in a press conference that a meeting was held with stakeholders on Saturday. The decision has been taken. Air services between Agartala and Kolkata will remain suspended till 9 am on Monday. A decision on whether flight services will remain normal on Monday, will be taken on Sunday afternoon, depending on the weather.
