DGCA Seeks Report From Air India Regarding The Barbados Flight

The country's aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sought a report from Air India on reports that an aircraft used for a scheduled flight was deployed to bring the Indian cricket team from Barbados. Officials gave this information.

Regarding this, a senior official said on Wednesday that DGCA has sought a report from Air India.

The T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team is set to reach the national capital on Thursday morning. The team members are returning home from Barbados' Grantley Adams International Airport in a special plane bearing the Air India Champions 24 World Cup (AIC24WC) lettering.

An Air India official said that passengers did not face any inconvenience due to the diversion of the Boeing 777 aircraft to Barbados.

The official said that most of the passengers who had booked tickets for the Newark to Delhi flight on July 2 were informed in advance. However, some passengers who were not informed about the flight cancellation came to the airport and were taken to New York by road and put on a flight from New York to Delhi.
