Dharmanagar By-Poll: CM Dr Saha Holds Key Strategy Meet

A crucial organisational meeting was held at the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Dharmanagar on Sunday, ahead of the by-election to Tripura’s 56th Dharmanagar Assembly constituency. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with several ministers and legislators.

The by-election has been necessitated by the untimely demise of sitting MLA Bishwabandhu Sen.

The BJP has nominated Jahar Chakraborty as its candidate, while the opposition has fielded Chayan Bhattacharya from the Indian National Congress and Amitabh Dutta from the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister asserted that the BJP approaches every electoral contest with unwavering seriousness. He noted that the party’s campaign will be strategically driven by the government’s developmental achievements and governance record.

He further called upon party workers and supporters to demonstrate unity and coordinated effort to secure a resounding mandate for Jahar Chakraborty, surpassing previous electoral margins.

The by-election is scheduled for April 9, with political activity intensifying and the atmosphere growing increasingly charged.
