"The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government is always working for the tribals. Excellence of Tripura cannot be without the real development of the tribals. Along with this, this government is creating employment and job opportunities for the unemployed."
Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the district-based mega campaign of Dharti Abha Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan organized at Govinda Community Hall under Belbari RD Block of Jirania Subdivision
He said, "We formed the government by winning the people's vote. Therefore, our government is committed to the public welfare. Starting from the minister, all the public representatives are constantly working for the people."
He also strongly criticized the baseless statements and allegations made by the opposition regarding the overall development of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said that the country will not develop unless the backward people of the society are developed. Since taking charge as the Prime Minister in 2014, he has been working for the development of about 700 tribal groups in the country. The current President of our country also represents the tribal community. And a member of the royal family from a small state like Tripura has been made the Governor of Telangana. And all this has been possible only because of our famous Prime Minister. He is working to develop the country's infrastructure, make the country stronger and ensure a secure future for the next generation."
The Chief Minister said that "people have witnessed how corruption- scandals took place in the country before 2014. And before 2018, the same thing happened in Tripura state. They only used the tribal community for vote bank politics. But now the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government is working towards the development of all sections of the people including the tribals. This government is working with the idea of making the tribals self-reliant. She said that the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi is connecting with the people through the Mann Ki Baat program, we are also working in that direction. Our double-engine government is working for the people with the vision of public welfare. There are many people-oriented projects of the Central Government and the State Government. Many projects are being implemented for the overall welfare of the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also keeping an eye on whether these projects are being implemented properly."
Chief Minister Dr. Saha further said that "the current state government in Tripura is making arrangements to provide various beneficiary schemes including drinking water, hostels for tribal students, multipurpose marketing centers for tribals, land title, ensuring health security, road construction, etc. Dharti Abha Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan project will benefit 779 Gram Panchayats and Village Committees in 392 revenue villages in 52 blocks in 8 districts of the state. 20 departments of the state have been included in this program."
The Chief Minister said that "after the BJP-led government came to power, it took positive initiatives to solve the problems of the Bru refugees for almost 23 years. However, the previous Left Front government had continuously neglected them and did not take any initiative to solve their problems. Our government has solved their problems and arranged for their proper rehabilitation. Although they informed me that they have some problems. So I met their representatives and came to know about the problems. I recently sent a letter to the Union Home Minister to solve their problems. Dr. Saha also said that the current state government is working to create employment opportunities for the youth. So far, this government has provided about 19 thousand government jobs. In addition, many more have been provided employment directly and indirectly.
