Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a name that has always been one step ahead of all captains in the world of cricket. 

He single-handedly pulled Team India out of difficult situations and led them to victory. As long as Dhoni was on the crease, Indian fans kept hoping for victory. 

His explosive batting in the death overs was unmatched and his agility on the field is a sight to behold. He is counted among the best finishers and wicketkeepers in the world. Dhoni is celebrating his birthday today ie Sunday July 7. 

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7 July 1981 in the then undivided Bihar. In his childhood, he was not interested in becoming a cricketer, he liked football and wanted to become a goalkeeper. 

But the school's cricket coach inspired him to play cricket. 

Then gradually his inclination increased towards cricket and he emerged as the biggest champion of this game. He touched those heights in the cricket world, which is every player's dream to reach. 

He also worked as a ticket collector in the railways. But then he did not like it there and he left the job and focused on cricket again. 

Every ICC trophy shines like a gem in Mahendra Singh Dhoni's crown. Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three ICC trophies - Champions Trophy, ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup. 

Dhoni made his ODI debut for India in 2004. Even though he got out on zero in his first match, he became a superstar of Team India due to his batting skills. 

He became the captain of Team India in 2007 and after that he never looked back and success kissed his feet. Under his captaincy, Team India won the ODI World Cup title after 28 years. 

He scored a stormy 91 runs in the final match and played an important role in winning the trophy. Even today, the six he hit is alive in the minds of cricket fans. 

He is known for his wicketkeeping with the agility of a cheetah. He has taken amazing catches many times and changed the game from behind the wicket. He does stumping quickly and his aim is as accurate as if a marksman is shooting. 

During his entire cricket career, Dhoni never had a fight with anyone and he has always been known for his calm nature. Hardly anyone could make a better strategy than him on the cricket field. 

He was an expert in reading the game of others. Under Dhoni's captaincy, Team India remained number-1 in the ICC Test rankings for 18 months. 
Dhoni retired from international cricket on 15 August 2020. But even after this, there has been no decrease in his fan following. 

He is playing in the IPL and fans are eager to watch his batting. Dhoni left the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings before IPL 2024 and Ruturaj Gaikwad was made the captain in his place. Under Dhoni's captaincy, the CSK team has won the IPL trophy five times. As a player, Dhoni is still playing in the IPL. 

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has made his mark in every field of the cricket world and defeated the opposing team. Coming from a small town, he wrote the history of cricket which is very difficult for anyone else. 

He has played cricket in all three formats for Team India. He has scored 4876 runs in 90 Test matches for Team India. Apart from this, he has scored 10773 runs in 350 ODI matches. He has 10 centuries to his name in ODI cricket. At the same time, he has 1617 runs to his name in 98 T20I matches
