"Did CM Biren Singh Ask PM Modi To Visit Manipur? "- Congress

Congress has targeted Manipur CM N Biren Singh who arrived in Delhi to attend the meeting of NITI Aayog. Congress on Sunday said that did CM Biren Singh tell Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation of violence-hit Manipur. Also, did he ask him to come to Manipur?

Congress general secretary and communication in-charge Jairam Ramesh said that Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh attended two meetings chaired by the Prime Minister on Saturday. First he attended the meeting of NITI Aayog and second the meeting of CM-Deputy CM of BJP ruled states. Ramesh said that the people of Manipur are asking whether N Biren Singh met the PM separately? Did the Chief Minister tell the PM about the situation in Manipur which has been burning since the night of May 3, 2023?

On the other hand, Manipur CM N Biren Singh said that in the Chief Ministers' conference, he expressed the feeling of strengthening the party and serving the nation while maintaining its ideology. Also, in the NITI Aayog meeting, a strategy was made to accelerate the country's progress and remove obstacles.

Violence has been going on in Manipur for the last one year. In fact, clashes started after the 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organized in the hill districts on May 3 last year in protest against the demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Meitei community.

At least more than 160 people have lost their lives in the state since then. Hundreds of people have lost their lives in the violence and thousands have been displaced.
