Dravid's Tenure to End: BCCI Released Adv For Head Coach of Team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has released the advertisement for the post of Head Coach of the Senior Men's Team. 

At present, Rahul Dravid is holding the responsibility of the post of head coach of Team India. 

But Rahul Dravid's tenure is going to end after T20 World Cup 2024. In such a situation, BCCI has invited applications for the post of Head Coach of Team India. 

But BCCI has also set some conditions for becoming the head coach of Team India. 

The tenure of the new head coach will be three and a half years. The new coach will hold this responsibility from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2027. That means this tenure will end after the ODI World Cup 2027. The last date to apply for the post of head coach is 27th May. 

BCCI has mentioned some conditions in the advertisement and told that one can apply to become the head coach. 

According to BCCI, to become a head coach, a candidate should have played at least 30 Test matches or 50 ODI matches. Or the candidate must have been the head coach of a full member test playing country for at least 2 years. Or the candidate should have been the coach of any Associate Member team / any IPL team or any such league or first class team or A team of any country for 3 years. 

Apart from this, level-3 certificate holder of BCCI coaching can also apply. But the age of the candidate should be less than 60 years. 

According to reports, head coach Rahul Dravid is getting around Rs 10 crore annually as fees. At the same time, the salary of the new head coach is not fixed yet. BCCI has told that this time they will negotiate with the candidates and the salary will be decided on the basis of experience only. 

Let us tell you that Rahul Dravid had replaced Ravi Shastri after the T20 World Cup 2021, his two-year tenure ended after the ODI World Cup 2023. 

But keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2024, his tenure was extended. However, he can still apply to become the head coach.
