E-attendance, Geo-tagging For Teachers, Students Shortly in Tripura Schools: Report

Electronic attendance system will be implemented in all government schools of Tripura to record the attendance of teachers. 

According to the reporr this system will be adopted with the aim of bringing transparency in the attendance records of the teachers.

Officer on Special (OSD) School Education Abhijit Samajpati said, “The state government has already started the e-attendance system in some offices, including the civil secretariat. Now it will be implemented in schools also.

Samajpati said that six months after the e-attendance system is implemented for teachers, it will be adopted for students also.

He said that training is being given to use the e-attendance system.

“Once it is successfully implemented for teachers and students, we will also add ‘geo-tagging’ to it… the entire system will become digital,” Samajpati said.

According to official figures, a total of 25,064 teachers teach 4,76,609 students in 2,640 government schools in Tripura.
