ECI Sets April 9 for Dharmanagar Assembly By-Poll

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the by-election to the Dharmanagar Assembly constituency in Tripura, with polling slated for April 9.

As per the timetable issued by the Commission, the gazette notification will be published on March 16, marking the formal commencement of the electoral process. The deadline for submission of nomination papers has been fixed for March 23, while the scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on March 24.

Candidates will be permitted to withdraw their nominations until March 26. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, and the entire electoral exercise is expected to conclude by May 6.

The by-election is being conducted to fill the vacancy in the Dharmanagar Assembly seat, with political parties and prospective candidates likely to intensify their campaign preparations once the notification is officially issued.
