As of December 21, 2024, the Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has allocated portfolios to its ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The key assignments are as follows:
- Devendra Fadnavis (BJP): Chief Minister; retained the Home Ministry.
- Ajit Pawar (NCP) Deputy Chief Minister; allocated the Finance, Planning, and State Excise departments.
- Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena): Deputy Chief Minister; assigned the Urban Development portfolio.

These allocations were finalized following discussions among Mahayuti (grand alliance) leaders, who have emphasized unity and adherence to the agreed-upon distribution of responsibilities. Notably, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has indicated that some ministers may serve for a term of 2.5 years before passing on their roles to other party members, ensuring broader representation within the alliance.
This cabinet formation follows the swearing-in ceremony on December 5, 2024, after the ruling alliance's significant victory in the state elections. Subsequently, 39 ministers from the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP were inducted on December 15, just before the commencement of the Winter Session of the state assembly.
