He said that 68 thousand 826 hectares of land in the state has been destroyed due to heavy rains. According to preliminary data, 2 lakh 816 metric tons of production has been damaged. The loss amount is Rs 532 crore 25 lakh. And one lakh 41 thousand 406 farmers have been affected. There are 9 lakh 90 thousand 451 electricity consumers in the state.
Among them, active customers are 9 lakh 5 thousand 614 people. Among them, 3 lakh 19 thousand 773 people have suffered. 35.31 percent customers are affected. Out of 1 lakh 67,632 customers of Agartala city, 40 thousand 500 customers have been affected. 24 percent of customers are affected. As a result of the repair, there is currently thirteen percent customer authority. In particular, 501 electrical transformers are destroyed. Many more transformers are still under water. So the number is likely to increase. 642 km of cable has been snapped. And in Agartala city, electricity has been restored in most of the areas where power was cut off. Still, 25 groups are working in Circle One to restore electricity to all the remaining places. Each group has five electricians each. Electricity workers are working day and night to provide services to people. However, the power lines have been disconnected in the areas where they have entered.
The minister also said that confusion has arisen regarding the opening of the gates of the Gomati Hydro Project. It is completely baseless. Because its capacity is 94 meters. When the water goes above 94 meters, the gate opens automatically, and when the water goes below 94 meters, the gate closes automatically. But for the past few days there has been a lot of confusion about it. But India does not want to cause any disturbance in the neighboring country of Bangladesh. India is a country that enjoys friendly relations with neighboring countries. India continues to provide electricity to Bangladesh. So, India does not want to spoil friendly relations with Bangladesh in any way, said the minister.
