Flood Situation: CM Manik Saha Visits Gomati, South Tripura Districts

The state government is working tirelessly to deal with the flood situation and has taken necessary steps to help the flood affected people. 

The central government has provided all necessary assistance to the state government to overcome this situation.

Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha said this after visiting the flood-affected areas of Gomati and South Tripura districts on Friday. 

The Chief Minister boarded an MI-17 helicopter at Agartala's MBB airport this morning and left for Gomti district and South Tripura to visit the flood-affected areas.

On his way to Udaipur, Chief Minister Dr. Saha visited Khilpara Higher Secondary School and the temporary relief camp at Khilpara Market Shed. Talk to vulnerable people. Later, the Chief Minister told the media that he was visiting the flood affected areas as well as the relief camps. 

Apart from this, ministers and MLAs are also visiting the affected areas in different parts of the state. We are doing everything possible. The state government is continuously working to deal with the flood situation. The central government has also helped us a lot. I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for extending their helping hand. They gave us everything we asked for including help with flood relief and rescue work.

The Chief Minister also said that additional NDRF teams, helicopters and boats have been deployed to deal with the flood situation. 

Along with this, food packets are being distributed among the flood-affected people. The government is doing everything necessary for the people who are in danger due to the floods. 

He said, I have news that many people have lost their important documents due to flood. And there is no reason to worry. I have already given necessary instructions to the administration officials to assist in this matter.

During the visit, Chief Minister Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Shital Chandra Majumdar, Gomati District Special Commissioner Ravel Hemendra Kumar along with senior officials of various departments of the state government were with him.

On this day, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha visited various flood affected areas including Udaipur, Korbook, Amarpur, Shantirbazar, Bilonia, Matabari, Melaghar, Charilam, Bishalgarh and Agartala. 

Besides, he went to several places and visited the affected areas. He also directed the concerned district magistrates to take all measures for the affected people
